Submission Instructions
Submission Deadline: September 30, 2011
Notification of acceptance: December 15, 2011
Proposal Submission
- Enter submissions portal
- Select presentation format:
- Symposium (3 or 4 paper presentations, including presentation by optional discussant)
- Individual Poster
- Poster Workshop (4 to 6 posters, discussant is optional)
- Follow instructions and verify that ALL information submitted is complete and correct
- Corrections may be made up to September 30, 2011
- If you do not receive an email confirmation following submission, your proposal has not been received
- Registration (paid in full by June 1, 2012) by at least one author on a paper or poster is mandatory for a paper or poster to appear in program
Symposium or Poster Workshop Checklist
- Chair's contact information (name, address including institution/department, phone, Email address)
- If applicable, contact information (name, address including institution/department, and Email address) for Symposium/Poster Workshop Co-Chair and Discussant
- Symposium/Poster Workshop Title (no more than 150 characters)
- 250-word Integrative Abstract for Symposium/Poster Workshop
- 1st and 2nd choice for review panel (see Call for Proposals)
- Period of life covered by Symposium/Poster Workshop: prenatal/infancy; preschool/middle childhood; adolescence; young adulthood; middle/later adulthood; across the lifespan
- Confirmation that, if proposal is accepted, the Chair (or Co-Chair if applicable), the Discussant (if applicable), and at least one author on each paper or poster will register for the conference by June 1, 2012 and attend
- Paper/Poster Abstract Title (up to 150 characters) for each presentation in Symposium/Poster Workshop
- Contact information (name, institution, country, Email address) for all authors on a paper/poster (up to 10 authors on a single paper or poster)
- Early Career Scholar Status for each paper/poster author: someone who has received a graduate research degree (e.g., a PhD) in past seven years (2005 or later) or is in graduate program leading to such a degree
- 400-word abstract for each paper or poster
Individual Poster Checklist
- Submitter's contact information (name, address including institution/department, phone, Email address)
- Poster Abstract Title (up to 150 characters)
- Contact information (name, institution, country, Email address) for all authors on poster (up to 10 authors)
- Early Career Scholar Status for each author: someone who has received a graduate research degree (e.g., a PhD) in past seven years (2005 or later) or is in graduate program leading to such a degree
- 400-word abstract for the poster
- 1st and 2nd choice for review panel (see Call for Proposals)
- Period of life covered by poster: prenatal/infancy; preschool/middle childhood; adolescence; young adulthood; middle/later adulthood; across the lifespan
- Confirmation that, if poster is accepted, at least one author will register for conference by June 1, 2012 and attend
Be prepared to retain your submission ID number (which will appear in the confirmation email message you receive after submitting), in case you need to make corrections up until September 30, 2011 or in case you need to contact us (questions@issbd2012.com).
Multiple Submissions
Individuals are permitted to serve as first author for a maximum of two presentations (symposium paper, individual poster, or poster in a poster workshop). Serving as chair, co-chair, and discussant does not count toward this limit.
Early Career Scholars and Travel Grant Applications
Early Career Scholars, participants who have received a graduate research degree (e.g., PhD) within the past seven years (2005 or later) or who are in a graduate program leading to such a degree, may be eligible to apply for travel grants to join the
preconference workshops and attend the conference. Further information will be posted on our website (
www.issbd2012.com ) as it becomes available.
